About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals and families through adoption work. As a Social Services Specialist, you will play a vital role in conducting adoption suitability assessments, providing pre and post-adoption support, and facilitating workshops and education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of prospective adoptive parents' suitability for adoption.
  • Prepare and assist in writing formal Adoption Suitability Assessment (ASA) reports.
  • Carry out assessments for Government-Initiated Adoption (GIA) cases as assigned by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF).
  • Facilitate and deliver adoption-related workshops, including Mandatory Pre-Adoption Briefings, Disclosure Workshops for Parents, and Workshops for Adopted Children.
  • Provide educational support to help families navigate the adoption journey with awareness, confidence, and sensitivity.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Social Work, Counselling, or related discipline with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Passionate about adoption work.
  • Be conversant in the adoption process, relevant documentation, eligibility criteria, and key issues surrounding adoption.
  • Proficient in professional reporting and documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with families and stakeholders.
