Operating Room Specialist

The role of the Operating Room Technician is to provide critical support to surgical teams during procedures.
- Preparation and setup of operating rooms, equipment, and supplies according to procedure requirements.
- Ensuring a safe environment through proper use of equipment and adherence to infection control practices.
- Verification of patient consent for correct procedures and sites.
- Transportation of patients to and from operating rooms.
- Assistance with anesthesia administration and monitoring.
Primary Responsibilities (80%):
- Prepare patients and operating rooms for procedures.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Verify patient consent and procedure details.
- Transport patients to and from operating rooms.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Assist with anesthesia administration and monitoring.
- Participate in maintaining a clean and organized operating room environment.
Basic Requirements:
- Completion of a certificate program or diploma in operating room technology.
- Current certification as an operating room technician (COT) or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or higher in a related field.
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records systems.
