Senior Vessel Operations Manager

Vessel operations play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of our company's daily activities. The successful candidate will oversee and manage assigned vessels, guaranteeing their safe and efficient operation.
This position entails supervising the loading and discharging of cargo, providing critical guidance to the Master on operational matters, including cargo, ports, routes, and more. Additionally, this person will nominate agents and protective services as required, foster collaboration with charterers and management companies for vessel arrival and departure procedures, and assist the Master with preparation for hire arrangements.
The ideal candidate must share vital information such as berthing schedules, cargo operations, departure status, bunker quantities, and cargo hold conditions with the Chartering Manager. This also includes tracking redelivery notices from charterers, issuing delivery notifications to subsequent charterers, coordinating joint surveys, and liaising with insurers and P&I Clubs for coverage and claim handling.
An exceptional analytical, planning, project coordination, and time management ability is necessary, along with a proven commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and cost control. The successful candidate should possess sound decision-making and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent communication abilities across all levels.
- A degree or higher qualification in a relevant field is required.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience with Dry Bulk Carriers is essential.
- A background in shipowning is an advantage.
