Job Description

The Kitchen Team Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless day-to-day operations within the assigned unit.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and guiding a team of service staff by allocating tasks, roles, and objectives for optimal performance.
  • Briefing the service crew on the staffing roster for each service day, guaranteeing readiness and preparedness.
  • Efficiently managing customer flow and seating arrangements to optimize dining experiences.
  • Maintaining and enhancing quality, service, cleanliness, and ambiance standards through active oversight and timely interventions.

Restaurant Management & Planning

As a key point of escalation, the Kitchen Team Lead is responsible for addressing service issues promptly and resolving day-to-day operational challenges as they arise.

This includes:

  • Providing necessary support to ensure service crew can effectively carry out their assigned tasks.
  • Investigating and resolving complex customer complaints and feedback in a timely and efficient manner.

Quality Assurance & Control

The Kitchen Team Lead enforces strict adherence to restaurant quality, service, cleanliness, and value standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring operations to ensure compliance with all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Implementing corrective actions to address unsafe and non-compliant conditions and behaviors related to personal and food safety.

People Management

The Kitchen Team Lead takes an active role in developing and mentoring team members.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting inductions for new hires to equip them with essential skills and information.
  • Providing training opportunities to foster role rotation among service staff and promote skill development.
  • Ensuring staff are adequately trained in company SOPs (standard operating procedures).
