Electrical Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our technical services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical system installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting across marine and industrial applications.

The role involves providing technical support to customers and coordinating with shipyards and vendors to ensure smooth project execution and high customer satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Electrical System Installation & Commissioning: Install electrical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance, diagnose and repair electrical faults, wiring issues, and equipment failures.
  • Customer Support & Training: Provide remote and on-site technical support to customers, train clients on the proper use, care, and maintenance of equipment.
  • System Upgrades & Improvements: Evaluate current systems and propose performance or safety upgrades, lead system retrofitting or enhancement initiatives as required.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce adherence to all safety regulations, risk mitigation protocols, and electrical standards, conduct safety assessments and ensure safe working conditions across all service activities.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of all service and maintenance activities, prepare service reports, timesheets, and customer acknowledgments.
  • Project & Site Coordination: Liaise with shipyards, project managers, and customer representatives during repair or commissioning works, monitor progress and ensure quality standards are maintained throughout project execution.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
  • Certifications: Additional certifications in electrical maintenance or safety (e.g., NEC, NFPA) are advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical service engineering or a similar technical role.
  • Skills: Proven expertise in electrical diagnostics, maintenance, and marine electrical systems, strong knowledge of wiring systems, motors, circuit boards, and electrical schematics.
  • Tools & Software: Proficient in using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and testing equipment.
  • Additional Skills: Familiarity with control systems, hydraulics, and electrical integration on marine vessels is a plus.
  • Personality Traits: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, excellent communication, and a proactive, customer-focused attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to Carry Equipment: Ability to carry electrical equipment and work in confined or elevated spaces.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel locally and internationally for site service work.
  • Work Environment: Comfortable working in shipyards, onboard vessels, and in varying weather conditions.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility to respond to urgent service calls or after-hours requirements.
