The Hwei-Ee Tan lab is dedicated to exploring the intricate relationships between gut bacteria and their influence on physiology and behavior. Our research focuses on the biological basis of 'gut-feelings' using mice as models, examining diet, microbiome, and host phenotypes through multidisciplinary approaches including molecular biology, neuroscience, physiology, and behavior.
">Research OpportunitiesWe are currently recruiting highly motivated postdoctoral fellows, research assistants, interns, and PhD/Masters students to contribute to impactful discoveries in microbiome gut-brain neuroscience. The successful candidates will have opportunities to:
- Contribute to cutting-edge research projects focusing on the gut-brain axis.
- Demonstrate motivation, core animal and lab skills, and teamwork in a collaborative environment.
- Pursue independent research projects under the guidance of experienced PIs.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A strong publication record in neuroscience or related fields.
- Proficiency in mice handling, optogenetics, animal surgery, and behavior studies.
- Expertise in multiphoton/2-photon imaging or microbiome analysis/bioinformatics.
