The Hwei-Ee Tan lab studies the biological basis of "gut-feelings" and how gut bacteria influence physiology and behavior. Using mice as models, the lab explores diet, microbiome, and host phenotypes, focusing on the gut-brain axis through multidisciplinary approaches including molecular biology, neuroscience, physiology, and behavior. Supported by top-tier grants, the lab is recruiting postdoctoral fellows, research assistants, interns, and motivated PhD/Masters students. Key Responsibilities
Contribute to impactful discoveries in microbiome gut-brain neuroscience.
Demonstrate motivation, core animal and lab skills, and teamwork.
Have experience in multiphoton/2-photon calcium imaging, data analysis, gnotobiotic studies, or microbiome bioinformatics.
Key Competencies/Requirements
PhD in neuroscience or related fields with a strong publication record.
Ability to lead impactful research on microbiome gut-brain axis.
Proficiency in mice handling, optogenetics, animal surgery, and behavior studies.
Expertise in multiphoton/2-photon imaging or microbiome analysis/bioinformatics.
Highly motivated, independent, team-oriented, willing to teach and learn.
