About this Opportunity

We are seeking a senior commercial strategist to drive meaningful strategies for our business. You will have exposure across both commercial and product group leadership.

About the Role

The distribution and placement of more than 330 million tonnes per annum of iron ore is a complex task. Our goal is to deliver superior margin performance through effective long-term product placement and shorter-term tactical placement decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead high-priority strategy projects for the Global Iron Ore Portfolio, including Go-To-Market strategies across all Iron Ore operations.
  • Develop and lead project work plans for multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop business cases to support new Commercial opportunities and initiatives.
  • Deliver commercial papers and presentations to influence senior management's decision-making.
  • Develop, build, and implement plans for key elements of the overarching strategy for Iron Ore's Commercial portfolio.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
About You

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A relevant bachelor's degree qualification.
  • At least five (5) years of strategy-focused experience, ideally at a top-tier consulting firm.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting analysis and interpreting complex results.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in corporate finance principles, financial modelling, and evaluation.
  • Ability to think strategically and understand the implications of macroeconomic development.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and execute.
  • Demonstrated experience in a commercial environment within a large organisation.
  • Experience in leading and coaching teams to unleash their potential.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary multi-lingual teams.
