Job Title: Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the professional staff, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive psychological services to students.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct psychological assessments and interventions for students with socio-emotional and behavioral needs.
  • Manage crisis situations by recognizing signs and symptoms of distress, providing crisis intervention, and administering suicide risk assessment.
  • Provide training to stakeholders on mental health topics, including understanding self-harm behavior.
  • Collaborate with allied professionals in the department and with teachers and caregivers to ensure effective service delivery.


Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Master's degree in Applied Psychology or Clinical Psychology from an accredited university and be registered/eligible for registration with a professional body. You should also have at least 5 years of relevant work experience and expertise in conducting and interpreting psychological assessments.

Additionally, you will need to be proficient in a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions, skilled in crisis intervention and management, and able to provide leadership in assigned initiatives.

A strong commitment to ongoing professional development through clinical supervision is essential. You will also need to be able to work collaboratively with other professionals and communicate effectively with students, teachers, and caregivers.
