We are seeking a skilled Splunk Monitoring Engineer to join our organization.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing, enabling, and maintaining Splunk monitoring platforms, including APM, RUM, and Synthetic monitoring. This includes onboarding new applications and services, tuning and optimizing alert rules, and coordinating with the Operations team for patching and upgrading of Splunk agents across environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and Alerting: Proactively monitor hosts, applications, and infrastructure components to detect and resolve issues early. Continuously tune and optimize alert rules to reduce false positives/negatives and improve incident detection.
  • Splunk Configuration: Configure and manage paging and alerting duties to ensure timely responses to incidents. Create and fine-tune dashboards to provide actionable insights and visibility into system and application health.
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging: Troubleshoot and debug issues related to Splunk monitoring platforms, including APM, RUM, and Synthetic monitoring.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Develop, maintain, and update documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and knowledge base articles.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

  • Extensive experience with Splunk monitoring platforms, including APM, RUM, and Synthetic monitoring.
  • Strong understanding of system administration, networking, and security principles.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with ArcSight, technical documentation, and scripting is preferred but not required.
