Plant Reliability Specialist

This position involves the execution of preventive condition monitoring programs to increase equipment reliability. The role includes identifying and reporting on plant and equipment inefficiencies, proposing improvements, and designing short-term engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- To plan, review and carry out predictive maintenance activities aligned with OEM recommendations and industry best practices.
- Monitor and review asset life expectancy to ensure optimal performance.
- Identify and report on areas for improvement in plant operations and propose effective solutions.
- Design and implement temporary fixes to resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
- Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot mechanical problems to identify inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Establish and maintain best practices and engineering standards in mechanical system design, analysis and optimization.
- Liaise with operations and maintenance staff to provide technical support and guidance.
- Manage and coordinate plant engineering projects, including overhauls, to achieve desired outcomes efficiently and effectively.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance technical expertise among team members.
- Assess the effectiveness of maintenance programs, including major overhauls, and provide insights on contractor performance.
- Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements and ensure compliance in the plant.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution, preferably with 8-10 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity and 3 years of supervisory experience in a power plant or related industry.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with self-motivation and independence.
- Good understanding of power plants or related industries and statutory regulations.
- Hands-on experience in maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing rotating equipment (e.g. pumps, compressors, fans, blowers, gearboxes) and static equipment (e.g. heat exchangers, boilers, pressure vessels, storage tanks, piping systems).
- Familiarity with gasket replacements, flange management and bolt torquing for leak-free joints.
- Knowledge of Condition Monitoring techniques and Predictive Maintenance tools.
- Basic understanding of Electrical and Instrumentation interfaces with mechanical systems.
- Working location: Jurong Island.
- Scheduled company transport is provided from Jurong East MRT.
