We are seeking a qualified interpreter to provide communication accessibility for students with hearing loss (HL) in a mainstream school.

The successful candidate will interpret English language to and from Singapore Sign Language (SgSL) for lessons, school activities and programmes, modifying and aligning teaching strategies to suit the needs of HL students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide interpretation services for lessons and all school activities and programmes.
  • Modify and align teaching strategies to suit the needs of HL students.
  • Work with school management to review and improve school systems and processes in support for HL students.
  • Provide consultation and build capacity of teachers and other school personnel to support HL students.
  • Conduct and/or organise workshops for parents and families of HL students.
  • Attend and participate in events and meetings.
Requirements
  • Achieved SgSL Course Level 3 or at least SEE2 Advanced Stage.
  • A diploma or degree in any field.
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in teaching (preferred).
  • Experience interacting with the Deaf community (preferable).
