About this Role

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Senior Executive with strong engineering underwriting expertise and SME Property & Casualty (P&C) knowledge.

This role is responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and approving engineering and SME P&C risks within delegated authority, ensuring alignment with underwriting guidelines, profitability targets, and risk appetite.

Main Responsibilities
  • Underwriting & Portfolio Management: Review and approve engineering and SME P&C risks, ensuring alignment with underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.
  • Client & Business Development: Identify and cultivate new business opportunities, maintain relationships with clients, and provide technical insurance advice.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with business units and reinsurers to coordinate underwriting matters, claims, and policy wording recommendations.
  • Staff Development: Supervise and mentor junior underwriters, enhancing their technical skills and product knowledge.
  • Operational Improvement: Participate in projects to improve underwriting processes and contribute to departmental efficiency.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks to support business objectives.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in the general insurance industry.
  • Relevant insurance qualifications (minimum CGI & HI).
  • Strong technical knowledge in engineering underwriting and SME P&C insurance.
  • Proven business development and portfolio management skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Business acumen with the ability to balance growth and risk.
  • Results-driven with a collaborative approach.
