Key Responsibilities

You will oversee the production of critical Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) Intermediate processes and provide essential technical assistance to processing teams to maintain and enhance operations. Your focus will be on ensuring seamless execution throughout each assigned project, emphasizing safety, quality, supply, and cost efficiency. Additionally, you will be involved in the development of Cost Improvement Projects (CIP).

As a Team Leader, you will guide work teams within your division, managing the personnel, technical, and financial resources effectively. Your technical expertise will enable you to mentor your direct reports in their daily tasks. You will be relied upon to address complex challenges within your area of specialization.

POSITION SUMMARY

Supervise and direct a team of Process Technicians in the manufacturing of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients. Lead and mentor a team of Process Technicians during commissioning activities for all plant equipment, engage in hazard and operability studies, safety inspections, and the creation of standard operating procedures. Contribute to the design and optimization of plant equipment and water systems. Act as the Site Incident Commander and oversee operations for the Organic Synthesis Plant in the absence of the Operations Manager. Ensure that Process Technicians perform their tasks in compliance with Environmental Health Safety standards, cGMPs, GDP, and all relevant company policies and procedures. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead, direct, and guide the team, including setting goals, priorities, development plans, and conducting performance evaluations. Motivate and inspire team members regarding performance expectations and assist them in meeting these standards through effective coaching. Prioritize Safety and GMP Compliance as key operational metrics. Understand processes and procedures, including good data management principles (ALCOA), and guide teams accordingly. Be accountable for the data integrity and performance of your team. Maintain an active presence in GMP work areas to observe work activities and practices. Be available for real-time escalations of concerns or support needed by direct reports. Investigate and report any actions or behaviors that may adversely affect GMP processes. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives as applicable. Serve as a role model to foster a positive compliance culture. Conduct annual Leader Led Conversations with teams to promote a culture of compliance with procedures, including good data management. Ensure that the work environment is consistently safe and compliant with regulations. Ensure effective training of all operations colleagues and adherence to SOPs and on-the-job training. Assign operational tasks according to Manufacturing Standard Work (MSW) and ensure compliance. Direct Process Technicians in performing operational tasks, pre-campaign start-up, and changeover cleaning to meet production goals. Collaborate with other departments (Quality Operations, Engineering, etc.) to ensure efficient operations.

EDUCATION

Diploma in a technical discipline or GCE 'O/A' levels

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 10 years of relevant experience (supervisory experience preferred) in the pharmaceutical (API), chemical, or petrochemical industry.
