Job Title

Associate Director (Electronics Sector)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our efforts in the Electronics sector. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of building strong relationships with companies across the Electronics vertical, including semiconductors, advanced packaging, and embedded systems.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the strategic objectives, business models, and technology requirements of these companies. He/She will engage with scientific units, research institutions, and innovation hubs to identify relevant capabilities that can be commercialized or co-developed with the private sector.

A key aspect of this role is facilitating collaborative projects between industry and R&D to bring innovative products and solutions to market. The Associate Director will champion the commercialization of research by structuring industry-research partnerships, licensing opportunities, or spin-offs.

The successful candidate will also translate complex technical concepts and government policies into actionable business insights for stakeholders and senior management. He/She will collaborate with key external stakeholders—industry players, government agencies, researchers, and investors—to shape the strategic direction of the Electronics sector in Singapore.

This is a leadership role that requires a strong communication skill (oral and written) and a proven history of influencing key decision makers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with companies across the Electronics vertical.
  • Engage with scientific units, research institutions, and innovation hubs.
  • Facilitate collaborative projects between industry and R&D.
  • Champion the commercialization of research.
  • Translate complex technical concepts and government policies into actionable business insights.
  • Collaborate with key external stakeholders.
  • Influence decision-making processes.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Electrical/Electronics/Material Engineering or related field.
  • Masters Degree with several years of experience will also be considered.
  • 7-years of experience in the electronics space, with 3-years of leadership/business development/strategic planning experience.
  • Experience in semiconductor fabrication, equipment development, and local enterprise development will be a big advantage.
  • Strong communication skill (oral and written).
  • Proven history of influencing key decision makers and stakeholders.
