Career Development Strategist for MBA Students

Nanyang Business School at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) aims to attract and retain senior professionals from diverse backgrounds through its graduate programmes.

The role requires expertise in providing career services to MBAs, ensuring they succeed in their post-MBA journey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Career Office Strategy and Implementation:
    • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to maintain the career office's reputation for providing optimal services, engaging with leadership to operationalise these initiatives;
    • Partner with the careers team to design and deliver career development workshops, networking events, and company presentations.
  • Lead Career Development:
    • Work collaboratively with NTU/NBS and external stakeholders to ensure timely access to job and internship opportunities for MBA students;
    • Provide guidance to MBA students on refining their career goals and developing effective job search strategies;
    • Offer industry insights and coach students to prepare them for career-related interactions with employers;
    • Source internships and manage application processes, ensuring adherence to regulatory and University policies/guidelines;
    • Track, update, and complete information required for MBA programme ranking;
    • Perform other essential duties and tasks specific to the position.
  • Support Business Development and Employer Engagement:
    • Collaborate with GSCDO sector leads to engage employers and increase placement rates of MBA students;
    • Maintain a deep understanding of market factors influencing employer organisations;
    • BUILD strong partnerships with companies providing jobs and internships/industry projects;
    • Manage relationships with industry leaders who provide industry insights and career coaching to students, handling administrative matters as part of these relationships.
Requirements:
  • A degree from a top-tier global business school is required, with an MBA preferred;
  • At least 7 years' experience, with a track record of building internal and external collaborations; experience in career services and/or working with post-graduate students within an Institute of Higher Learning, preferably in a business school, is advantageous;
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills;
  • A team player who takes initiative and drives excellence.
