Job Summary

This role is part of a project team to assist the engineer and supervise Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) construction progress.


The Work Scope Includes:
  • Working with project consultants and key stakeholders, such as other government agencies, on the design of the various facilities in IWMF, ensuring that IWMF is constructed, erected, installed in accordance with design specifications and complying with statutory requirements.
  • Participating in the testing, commissioning of mechanical, process, or electrical, instrument, control and automation equipment/systems.
  • Attending factory acceptance tests at local and overseas factories to witness and verify quality and performance of major equipment/systems.
  • Being part of the technical team to assist the engineer in operation and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leading a unit of technical specialists and coordinating maintenance work between contractors and maintenance sections to ensure the safe, smooth and efficient operations of the waste-to-energy facility.
  2. Implementing preventive maintenance and overhaul programs for the facility's electrical and control equipment such as turbo-generators, motors, switchgears, low tension and high tension equipment, distributed control system and field instruments.
  3. Administering contracts for the operation and maintenance of mechanical or building services equipment.
  4. Enforcing permit-to-work system and safe work culture including supervising contractors' work for quality and safety.
  5. Assisting in the formulation and preparation of standard operating and safety procedures, equipment testing/changeover programme.
  6. Performing shift work in a waste-to-energy facility, if needed.
  7. Assisting engineer to implement initiatives on safety and continuous improvement to enhance the safety culture and standards within the plant, as well as drive projects to achieve operational excellence.
