Technical Operations Lead

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding position for an experienced professional who wants to lead a team of technical specialists in the waste management industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, construction, testing, and commissioning of facilities, as well as implementing maintenance programs and administering contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of technical specialists working on integrated waste management facilities and incineration plants.
  • Collaborate with project consultants and stakeholders to ensure that facilities are built according to specifications and statutory requirements.
  • Participate in the testing and commissioning of mechanical, process, or electrical equipment and systems.
  • Lead factory acceptance tests to verify the quality and performance of major equipment and systems.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance and overhaul programs for electrical and control equipment.
  • Administer contracts for the operation and maintenance of mechanical, EICA, or building services equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with permit-to-work systems and promote a safe work culture.
  • Assist in formulating and preparing standard operating procedures.
  • Perform shift work in waste-to-energy facilities, if required.

Requirements:

  • A diploma in any engineering course or Nitec in any engineering course.
  • 3 years of relevant working experience for Diploma holders. Fresh diploma graduates may also be considered.
  • 6-8 years of relevant working experience for Nitec holders.
  • Professional certification such as Licensed Electrical Worker, Boiler Attendant Certificate, or Workplace Safety Health Officer is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong technical background and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with solid waste management is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Navisworks, and Primavera P6.
  • Maturity, independence, resourcefulness, and good teamwork.
  • Good interpersonal communication.
