Job Title: Community Ambassador

Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Community Ambassador, where you will play a pivotal role in fostering community development and promoting positive relationships within the community.

As a Community Ambassador, you will be responsible for conducting environmental scans to identify local resources, strengths, and assets. This will involve engaging with residents, local associations, and institutions to foster a collaborative approach to community development.

You will also be responsible for building strong and positive relationships with community members, mobilizing them to contribute to their community's betterment. Additionally, you will manage the recruitment of volunteers for various programs and conduct volunteer orientation sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct environmental scans to identify local resources, strengths, and assets within the community.
  • Engage in meaningful conversations with residents to identify community strengths and assets.
  • Build strong and positive relationships with residents, local associations, and institutions.
  • Mobilize community members interested in contributing to their community's betterment.
  • Manage the recruitment of volunteers for various programs.
  • Conduct volunteer orientation sessions.
  • Identify and collaborate with suitable stakeholders to support the organization's programs.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Degree in any discipline.
  • No experience required, but experience in community development and volunteer management is an added advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Good writing skills and comfortable with data collation for reporting purposes.
  • Empathetic towards the needs and challenges of less resourced families.
  • Capacity to reflect on key strengths and needs and motivated to enhance personal effectiveness and efficiency at work.
  • Flexible, nimble, and able to adapt to organisational changes.
  • Motivated towards learning and professional development.
