We are seeking a highly skilled Data Platform Engineer to join our team. As an Architect for Unity Catalog and Hive Metastore, you will play a key role in designing and implementing data platform solutions that drive business growth and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the current state of Hive Metastore and identify areas for improvement using UCX Assessment Tool.
- Develop a comprehensive migration plan and finalize a migration runbook.
- Configure cloud resources, including storage accounts, IAM roles, and networking.
- Set up Unity Catalog Metastore(s) and assign workspace mappings.
Requirements:
- 9-10 years of hands-on experience in data platform engineering or migration projects.
- Proficiency in tools such as Databricks, Unity Catalog, Hive Metastore, and UCX assessment tools.
- Cloud platform expertise, specifically in Azure, including IAM and networking setup.
- Familiarity with BI/reporting tools integration and security policy governance.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with cluster policy design and UC-enabled environments.
- Knowledge of ACL mapping strategies and data governance best practices.
- Ability to create migration dashboards or reports for leadership visibility.
