Healthcare Porter Job Description

As a Healthcare Porter, you will be responsible for providing patient transportation services to various hospital departments and facilities. This role involves working closely with ward staff to ensure the safe and efficient transfer of patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in transporting and transferring patients on trolleys to wards and other hospitals as required.
  • Support ward staff in receiving and transferring patients from ambulances where necessary.
  • Help fall risk patients on and off wheelchairs with the assistance of ward staff.
  • Send patients to ancillary departments for treatment or examination.
  • Accompany patients to allied health departments for treatment or examination when required.
  • Retrieve equipment, specimens, blood, x-rays, films, or case records from allied health or ancillary departments.
  • Perform other relevant duties assigned by senior staff members.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. A high level of physical fitness is also essential, as you will be required to lift and move patients safely.
