Operations Supervisor

About the Role:
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a professional image at all times, while ensuring that portering services are provided in a safe and efficient manner.
  • A key aspect of this position involves providing portering services which include patients, medical records, specimens, equipment, medication, and blood products to and from wards/specialist clinics/departments/external centers.
  • Additionally, the Operations Supervisor will be expected to lead a team of porters, providing supervision, guidance, and training to enhance their competency levels.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment is crucial, as well as ensuring that equipment/mobile devices are in good working condition at all times.
  • The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to disseminate information effectively and provide feedback to supervisors on matters of interest.


Responsibilities:
  • Project a professional image at all times
  • Deliver quality portering services to patients and staff in the hospital
  • Lead a team of porters and ensure supervision, grooming, motivation, discipline, and training to the team
  • Maintain a proper filling system for the purpose of submitting daily tasks
  • Prepare and maintain daily rosters, daily attendance, and periodic reports
  • Collect and consolidate all medical certificate submissions, leave application forms, and ensure that all documents are in order prior to submission
  • Ensure tidiness and cleanliness of the workplace and/or shared areas of work with other staff
  • Monitor all Health, Safety & Environmental procedures and practices, report incidents to supervisors immediately
  • Respond to hospital or civil emergency activations while on duty or/off duty (standby)


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
