Portering Operations Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Portering Operations Coordinator to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality portering services within the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver High-Quality Services: Ensure that all patients receive safe and timely transportation, as well as efficient handling of medical records, specimens, equipment, medications, and blood products.
  • Lead and Supervise Team Members: Provide guidance and support to a team of porters, ensuring they maintain proper grooming, motivation, discipline, and ongoing training.
  • Engage with Users: Regularly interact with users to gather feedback and communicate concerns to supervisors for follow-up.
  • Respond to Enquiries: Promptly respond to internal and external enquiries, providing accurate information or assistance as needed.
  • Manage Incoming Requests: Effectively manage incoming requests via hotline and e-porter system, assigning tasks accordingly.
  • Ensure Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain all equipment and mobile devices, promptly reporting any malfunctions.
  • Prepare Staff Rosters: Prepare and maintain staff rosters, attendance records, and required reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collect and Verify Documents: Collect and verify medical certificates, leave applications, and other related documents before submission.
  • Maintain Workplace Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the workplace and shared work areas at all times.
  • Monitor Health and Safety: Continuously monitor health, safety, and environmental practices; report incidents immediately, conduct investigations, and draft incident reports as required.
  • Respond to Emergencies: Respond to hospital or civil emergency activations during and outside of working hours as needed.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in general roles such as housekeeper, driver, dispatch, or messenger, or in healthcare support roles (e.g., medical assistant, porter), is preferred.
