Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Engineer to join our team at StarHub. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of our facilities, including M&E systems, security systems, and other related infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Facilities Manager in the operation and maintenance of facilities, including M&E systems, security systems, and other related infrastructure.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure smooth operation of facilities.
  • Responsible for the delivery of workplace and engineering services to the highest standard.
  • Manage self-performance services, vendor-performed contract services, and provide monthly updates and status projections.
  • Prepare, collate, and submit related engineering, facilities, and project reports as required.
  • Establish a "Safety First" culture across sites and improve safety performance.
  • Provide support to internal stakeholders as required to ensure delivery and achievement of high service standards.
  • Ensure vendor partners meet all EHS, SLA, KPI, satisfaction surveys, contracts, and scope of work requirements.
  • Escalate to Manager in the event of any escalations impacting KPI/SLA and other deliverables.
  • Serve as the liaison for all facilities services, including janitorial, landscape, shared compound, security, waste management, space planning, and project development services.
  • Ensure compliance by renewing all related government and statutory licenses.
  • Review maintenance/service practices of hard and soft services vendors to deliver quality work practices.
  • Ensure all safety, environmental, and client standards are strictly adhered to within managed facilities.
  • Support and promote sustainability initiatives by proposing and participating in recycling, energy, waste reduction, and sustainability programs.
  • Key point of contact for corporate events in the office, working with stakeholders for planning and conduct of events and functions.
  • Support and conduct Fire Certification & testing, Table Top Exercise, Fire Drills, Building Annual Shut down, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Project manage improvement or renovation work in the office and retail shop.
  • Procurement & Vendor Management.
  • Carry out any task assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Appropriate qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Telecommunications, or Facilities Management with at least 2 years of work experience in facilities area, particularly in Activity-Based Workplace environments.
  • Candidates with 2-3 years of working experience in supporting facilities operations & maintenance in Activity-Based Workplace environments are preferred.
  • Fresh Diploma graduates with a positive attitude and willingness to work in a start-up environment are welcome to apply.
  • Good understanding and hands-on servicing experience in all facilities systems and building maintenance.
  • Willing to work during non-office hours to manage and coordinate major data centre-related customer activities.
  • Basic networking, broadband access, and structure cabling is a plus.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, AutoCAD.
  • Able to manage and supervise contractors.
  • Hands-on experience in provisioning and configuration of network elements, switches, CPE, and services will be an added advantage.
  • Self-motivated with strong drive and willingness to take on challenges.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, with ability to interact with people of all levels, especially with end customers.
  • Good working attitude with minimum supervision and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Possess initiative and professionalism with the ability to multitask.
  • Service-oriented manner is essential. Must be a team player coupled with strong communication and problem-solving skills and demonstrate the ability to work independently.
