Application Expert for Downstream Technologies

Job Description:

The role of a Bioprocess Field Application Specialist involves providing technical expertise and applications support to regional accounts. This includes supporting the sales process for downstream chromatography and TTF skids technologies and resins, conducting pre- and post-sale product demonstrations, and performing technical troubleshooting to support sales objectives.

Additionally, the incumbent will maintain a high level of technical knowledge on specialist subjects, products, and their applications, as well as keep up-to-date knowledge of downstream products, services, and support literature.

This position requires collaboration with Upstream FAS and regional sales teams to drive growth in Upstream and Single Use technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Support regional pre- and post-sales activities, including technical and application review of tenders and technical follow-up for QAA's.
• Maintain a high level of technical knowledge on specialist subjects, products, and their applications.
• Keep up-to-date knowledge of downstream products, services, and support literature.
• Develop and execute product training plans for existing customers, sales partners, and channel partners for the downstream product segment.
• Respond to regional customer technical inquiries and feedback from customers and/or sales staff, using appropriate questioning to identify the nature of the request or complaint.
• Identify opportunities to convert technical inquiries into new or developed sales possibilities (e.g., design-in, lead generation, up- and cross-selling, and initiating quotations).

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years in project engineering or management, preferably in a cGMP manufacturing or engineering setting.
• Strong understanding of bioprocess manufacturing, protein sciences, chromatography, filtration, and resin technologies.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; able to engage with customers, global teams, and cross-functional colleagues.
• Team-oriented with a customer-focused mindset.
• Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements.
• Capable of multitasking and managing priorities independently with minimal supervision in dynamic environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Manufacturing experience in Pharmaceuticals.
• Automation knowledge, e.g., Unicorn and DeltaV control systems.
• Upstream knowledge for bioreactors and cell culture media.

Travel Requirements:

Willingness to travel 50% or more within the specified geographic region (SEA/ASEAN) with occasional overnight stays for a few days for sales meetings and tradeshows.
