Job Title: Technical Design Specialist

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Technical Design Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our design department, you will be responsible for creating detailed design documents using BIM Modeling, AutoCAD, and Revit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed design documents for construction, preliminary, and as-built status using BIM Modeling, AutoCAD, Revit, etc.
  • Assist project engineers and managers in various tasks.
  • Stay updated with drafting technology to maintain technical competency.
  • Plan drawing requests to meet submission deadlines.
  • Deliver accurate and correct drawings on time and maintain softcopies of completed drawings.
  • Draft plans and detailed drawings for structures, installations, and construction projects from sketches or notes.
  • Finish and duplicate drawings and documentation packages according to required mediums and specifications.
  • Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and engineering data received from project engineers and managers to ensure conformity to design concepts and client requirements.
  • Explain drawings to production teams and provide adjustments as necessary.
  • Calculate weights, volumes, area, and implications for technical aspects of designs.
  • Determine quality, cost, strength, and quantity of required materials and enter figures on materials lists.
  • Coordinate and monitor sub-contractors' quality of works, including design documents and drawings.
  • Coordinate sub-contractors' work prior to physical site work to avoid conflicts.
  • Carry out submissions to clients, architects, and consultants for material approvals before commencement of work.
  • Assist quantity surveyors in verifying claims.
  • Assist project engineers and managers in compiling handing over documents, including as-built drawings and OMM.
  • Inspect and review completed works for conformity to contract specifications, standards, and approved drawings.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure successful project implementation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, or architectural engineering.
  • 2 years of working experience in the construction industry.
  • Knowledgeable in the most recent version of AutoCAD and Revit software platforms.
  • Able to read and understand MEP/C&S drawings and documents.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and BIM Modelling.
  • Hardworking, effective, quick, and able to perform independently under minimal supervision.
