Senior Category Manager Job Description

This role involves leading strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance. You will manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure favorable terms and conditions.

You will be responsible for analyzing market data, industry trends, and internal metrics to inform decision-making and strategy development. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to drive innovation and continuous improvement in category management.

The successful candidate will oversee and mentor junior category managers, fostering a high-performance team culture. Supply chain risks within assigned categories will also need to be identified and mitigated.

Category performance reports and recommendations will be presented to senior leadership. Sustainability initiatives within assigned categories should align with company ESG goals.

Requirements
  • A university degree in Economics or Technical Studies, or a related field, with an MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in category management or strategic sourcing, preferably in the consumer goods industry.
Key Skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
