Job Description

As a seasoned data centre operations professional, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage site operations, including hiring, motivating, developing, training, and disciplining technicians and maintenance teams.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and uptime requirements.
  • Support site reviews, including maintenance standards, equipment replacement, security, change control, points of failure, and operational risk.
  • Deliver planned and reactive activities within financial operating targets using the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Perform additional tasks as required by the Data Centre Operations Manager and Client Critical Facilities Manager.
  • Provide advice and consultation on facilities engineering matters.
  • Ensure compliance with specifications and ordinance requirements for site repair and maintenance carried out by subcontractors.
  • Monitor, measure, and report on the performance of specialist contractors against contractual budgets.
  • Lead regular meetings with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to establish and maintain required standards.
  • Support daily cadence meetings, monthly operation meetings, and quarterly business reviews with clients.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and provide sufficient information for effective asset management.
  • Assist clients with statutory compliance requirements and certifications.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Ideal Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in mechanical, electrical, or operational engineering disciplines.
  • At least 3 years' experience in operating electrical and mechanical services in Tier III or equivalent data centres or critical facilities.
  • Resourceful, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders.
  • Relevant data centre certifications.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement initiatives and client relationships.
