About the Opportunity
United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB) is seeking an experienced Executive Director, Global Cards Delivery and Innovation to lead our Cards Technology team.
This role will be responsible for delivering strategic cards projects and quarterly releases, driving technology excellence and innovation within the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of managing IT cards delivery teams, with experience in executing large-scale cards technology transformation and migration projects.
About the Department
Group Technology and Operations (GTO) provides software and system development, information technology support services, and banking operations. We operate and support 19 countries with a secure and flexible banking infrastructure.
The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the credit card industry, including areas such as cards issuing and acquiring management, transaction management, disputes, authorization, settlement, loans, EPP, rewards, loyalty, and HSM. They will also have hands-on experience in actual cards systems (CardLink / VisionPlus) development work.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage strategic cards projects and quarterly releases
- Drive technology excellence and innovation within the team
- Partner with business leaders, T&O Program managers, business analysts, and system analysts to collate, understand, and finalize functional and technical requirements
- Establish use cases, lead MVP development, and ensure cross-functional analysis during requirement and solution phases
- Manage budget planning and financial management, including resource forecasting and tracking budget allocation
- Foster an environment of technology excellence and innovation, leading change initiatives and building team capabilities
- Oversee quarterly release planning and management, providing status reporting and communicating across leadership and business stakeholders
- Participate in supplier management, partnering with UOB's vendor management team to manage vendors and define roles/responsibilities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar domains; related professional/technical qualification advantageous
- More than 15 years' delivery record in developing and delivering global/regional cards solutions for a multi-national/regional company with annual budgetary responsibility
- More than 10 years' leadership experience in managing IT cards delivery teams
- Strong technical/platform knowledge on CardLink/Vision Plus, mainframe (CICS/Cobol), and distributed platforms; thorough knowledge of Credit Cards domain essential
- Exceptional business domain knowledge covering cards, remote commerce, portals, collections, loyalty rewards, and open banking
- Experienced in executing large-scale cards technology transformation and migration projects; good understanding of the credit card industry and multiple functions
- Hands-on experience in actual cards systems (CardLink/VisionPlus) development work; prior coding, functional specifications, and technical specifications experience
- Strong team player able to motivate team to respond to multiple demands and manage changing priorities and meet challenging timelines
- Thought leader with ability to formulate processes and procedures, quickly putting them into practice
- Strong team orientation and commitment to overall team success; willing to go above and beyond to ensure team success; intense customer focus and commitment to driving quality
Salary Range
$250,000 - $350,000 per annum
