Job Title: Sustainability Specialist

This role is within the Environment department, where you will be exposed to end-to-end operations and maintenance of a Waste-to-Energy (WTE) plant.

Your responsibilities will include supporting the Operations/Maintenance Manager in controlling operations, maintenance, consumables, manpower, and budgets. You will also satisfy primary customers and build good relationships with stakeholders.

You will be responsible for the efficient running of the plant and ensuring compliance with NEA ISA, KIT, Statutory/Regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will assist in managing and being responsible for the safe, efficient, and smooth operation of the plant's critical and auxiliary equipment.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Support the Operations/Maintenance Manager in controlling operations, maintenance, consumables, manpower, and budgets.
  • Satisfy primary customers and build good relationships with stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist in managing and being responsible for the safe, efficient, and smooth operation of the plant's critical and auxiliary equipment.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Section in matters related to plant operation and maintenance.
  • Assist in preparation of Procurement inquiry or site show around if required.
  • Provide support to BCP, IQC, R&D, ISO, external and internal audit and any other activities.

Improvement/Project/Overhaul works:

  • Explore, contribute to, carry out and coordinate Value Creation projects that seek to improve and optimize plant processes.
  • Support and contribute to external projects that involve Singapore and overseas plants.
  • Coordinate Contractor activities for Boiler and Turbo-Generator overhaul, Common shutdown, as well as any ad hoc work activities in plant.

Contractor Management:

  • Liaise with contractors on matters relating to operations, maintenance, and solid waste management.
  • Supervise and oversee maintenance activities that are carried out by contractors.
  • Ensure contractor compliance to in-house rules and HSE protocol.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong team player with good leadership track records.
  • Good attitude, self-motivated, have willingness to learn and possess strong problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of workplace and process safety.
  • Has interest working in process plants.
  • Must be able to adapt to waste handling and humid environment when the situation calls for it.
