Job Title: Sustainability Specialist

The Interdisciplinary Collaborative Core (ICC) is seeking a Sustainability Specialist to teach and facilitate the course "Sustainability: Society, Economy & Environment".

This course aims to cultivate a lasting mindset of awareness, critical thinking, curiosity, and collaboration across disciplines, using current sustainability challenges as a framework. Students will explore sustainability issues from multiple perspectives - social, economic, and environmental - at various scales, including individual, organisational, local, and global levels.

Sustainability Specialists with expertise in teaching and facilitation are ideal candidates for this role. They should have the ability to develop engaging and interactive learning experiences, find new ways to relate concepts to real-world applications, and effectively communicate complex ideas.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching and Facilitation: Conduct all teaching assignments through both face-to-face and virtual delivery, ensuring effective engagement and learning.
  • Course Planning and Development: Develop instructional plans that meet university standards, while continuously designing, refining, and improving lesson plans, activities, assignments, and rubrics to enhance student learning.
  • Student Engagement: Foster active class discussions and ensure high levels of student participation and engagement throughout the course.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Conduct assessments, grade assignments, provide timely feedback, and address student consultations on both academic and non-academic matters.

Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a willingness to learn and adapt. A passion for knowledge and an enthusiasm for working with students are also essential qualities for success in this role.

The hired Sustainability Specialist will be responsible for creating and maintaining course materials and learning resources to support and enhance student learning experiences.

Apart from these responsibilities, the candidate will work closely with other staff and faculty to maintain a positive and supportive environment for all stakeholders.
