Job Summary:

Senior Legal Counsel Position

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in helping us achieve our mission of expanding wallet functionality and reach through a cross-functional team of high performers, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders focused on driving innovation.

  • Provide timely and business-focused legal advice on commercial transactions and contractual documents.
  • Identify regulatory issues that may arise from business initiatives and bring them for further analysis to the applicable legal subject matter expert.
  • Advise on product design and innovations, structuring partner deals, identifying associated risks, and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Be responsible for briefing other legal team members of applicable product development and initiatives, maintaining records of legal advice provided over time, and working collaboratively with members of the legal team, compliance team, and other teams to provide integrated guidance to the business.

In this day-to-day role, you will have responsibility for providing legal advice to our organization, have regular exposure to senior stakeholders, analyze, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements, work with global legal teams on strategic business initiatives and key commercial deals with partners, and partner with legal team members across our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Providing proactive, timely, and business-focused legal advice on commercial transactions and contractual documents.
  2. Identifying regulatory issues that may arise from business initiatives and bringing them for further analysis to the applicable legal subject matter expert.
  3. Advising on product design and innovations, structuring partner deals, identifying associated risks, and recommending mitigation strategies.
  4. Briefing other legal team members of applicable product development and initiatives, maintaining records of legal advice provided over time, and working collaboratively with members of the legal team, compliance team, and other teams to provide integrated guidance to the business.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Law.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Legal Counsel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Law.
  • Experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in a foreign language.
