Job Title: Finance Manager, Asia

McGraw Hill is a leading global education company committed to providing innovative learning solutions. Our International team impacts students and teachers worldwide, with offices in Asia, Europe, North America, South America, and Australia.

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join our team in Singapore, Asia regional hub. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for providing financial and accounting support for Asia entities in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Japan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate financial data in accordance with local statutory requirements and US GAAP.
  • Review and approve finance team activity for monthly subsystem financial close for AP, AR, Plant & WIP, Inventory, Royalties.
  • Review and approve finance team and outsourced activities for monthly Oracle financial close for full set of GL and intercompany billings.
  • Prepare statutory accounts and income tax returns and answer any queries from auditors.
  • Ensure timely GST reporting prepared by outsourced party/local team to ensure compliance with tax deadlines.
  • Work with International Tax team to prepare tax computations for year-end close.
  • Work with local authorities, external auditors, internal auditors, and external tax agents to ensure compliance with Treasury, Statutory, Statistics, and Tax obligations.
  • Provide support to US Treasury and Legal teams for any queries and initiatives.
  • Assist Finance Director for any ad-hoc queries.
  • Support the implementation of corporate initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years' accounting working experience and prior experience in supervisory experience.
  • A self-starter who is able to plan, organise, and take initiative to meet job objectives and deadlines independently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding and implementing new accounting policies and procedures as and when required.
