Job Description

An IT Systems Strategist is responsible for overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of IT systems for both office and vessels, ensuring they meet operational needs. This role involves managing network infrastructure, including onboard communication systems, to ensure reliability and performance.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in recruitment, compensation & benefits, training & development, employee relations, performance management, and IT system management. They will also be able to develop and enforce security protocols to protect sensitive data related to vessel operations and company information.

This position requires strong technical problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to collaborate, lead IT projects, and foster a team-oriented environment is essential.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant field
  • 8+ years of experience in related field
  • Experience in IT support in a shipping Company would be advantageous
  • Knowledge in ERP administration is a must and with experience would be advantageous
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement data inscription practices for sensitive information both at rest and in transit
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry regulations
  • Manage the IT team by recruiting, training, and mentoring staff to enhance their skills and performance
  • Prepare and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions are implemented while meeting operational needs
