Job Title: Chief IT Strategist

We are seeking an experienced and strategic individual to join our team as a Chief IT Strategist. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of IT strategy, enterprise architecture, and governance best practices.

The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing the multi-year IT Strategic Plan and the annual IT workplan, including:

  • Planning and facilitating IT strategic planning workshops and offsite meetings
  • Conducting research on technology trends and adoption in the education sector
Responsibilities:IT Strategic Planning

The Chief IT Strategist will support the CIO in developing and implementing a comprehensive IT strategic plan that aligns with the organization's overall business goals.

  • Establish the Enterprise Architecture framework to align business strategy, processes, information, and technology
  • Develop and maintain enterprise-wide IT Architecture as a common blueprint for the organization
Enterprise Architecture

The Chief IT Strategist will lead the development and maintenance of the Enterprise Architecture framework, ensuring that it is aligned with the organization's business strategy and goals.

  • Conduct IT Business Impact Analysis and IT Risk Assessment, identifying critical IT systems, applications, infrastructure components, and data essential for business operations
  • Develop and maintain IT BCP procedures/DR Plans, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall BCP plan, as well as ISO 20000 and ISO 27001 frameworks
IT Service Management (ISO 20000 certification)

The Chief IT Strategist will lead the ISO 20000 certification process, ensuring that the IT Service Management System (SMS) consistently delivers quality IT services meeting business and customer needs through continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.

  • Act as the Primary Management Representative for ISO 20000 audit
  • Deputy System Owner for ITSM components in the ServiceNow Platform, ensuring effective implementation/enhancement of approved processes
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Certification in TOGAF, ITIL, ISO 20000, or PMP is desired
  • Minimally 12 years of relevant IT experience, with a significant portion dedicated to IT strategic planning, enterprise architecture, or IT governance roles within a large and complex organization
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing multi-year IT strategic plans and annual work plans, effectively aligning IT initiatives with organizational goals
