Life Saving Appliances and Fire Fighting Apparatus Technician

We are seeking an experienced Life Saving Appliances (LSA) and Fire Fighting Apparatus (FFA) technician to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our LSA and FFA equipment aboard our ships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair life-saving appliances and fire-fighting apparatus in accordance with SOLAS and class rules.
  • Perform routine testing and inspections of lifeboats, liferafts, fire extinguishers, fire hoses, and other firefighting apparatus in accordance with manufacturer instructions and legal requirements.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment faults, identifying and resolving technical problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Maintain and certify LSA/FFA equipment annually, adhering to safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Record all maintenance operations, inspections, and repairs thoroughly, ensuring regulatory compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of four years of experience working in the maritime sector as an LSA/FFA technician or equivalent position.
  • Strong knowledge of SOLAS norms, class regulations, and other relevant maritime standards.
  • Technical expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing lifeboats, liferafts, fire extinguishers, and related equipment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, including the ability to identify and resolve equipment issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Detailed-oriented with a focus on precision and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teams and convey technical information clearly.
