Job Title: Deputy Department Manager - Human Resource

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to fill the position of Deputy Department Manager – Human Resource. As a key member of the HR team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and implementing human resource operations across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full spectrum of HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training & development, and employee engagement.
  • Support department heads with manpower planning and hiring needs, ensuring timely and quality placements.
  • Facilitate new hire orientations and ensure smooth onboarding processes.
  • Handle employee relations matters professionally and confidentially, including counseling, conflict resolution, and grievance handling.
  • Monitor and implement HR policies and ensure alignment with MOM regulations and internal standards.
  • Support annual performance appraisal exercises, including collation and analysis of evaluation data.
  • Coordinate and implement staff training and development programs.
  • Assist in HR administrative functions such as maintaining employee records, HRIS updates, and payroll support when necessary.
  • Participate in company-wide HR projects or events such as staff welfare activities, town halls, and festive engagements.
  • Act as deputy to the HR Manager, standing in during absences and supporting leadership duties.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in retail or customer-facing sectors.
  • Good knowledge of Singapore employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Meticulous, organized, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • A team player with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters professionally.
  • Proficient in UNIT 4 PROSOFT.
