Job Title:
Supply Chain Optimization Specialist

This role focuses on driving quality, price/value determination, and timely delivery of commodities. The ideal candidate will be accountable for projects or programs on a multi-functional, national or regional basis.

The successful Supply Chain Optimization Specialist will effectively drive continuous improvements across all functions, lead problem resolution of diverse scope based on analysis of facts and data, develop short and long-term plans and solutions, update/sets up policies to standardize processes; resolve conflicts effectively.

Builds cross-functional relationships, using negotiation, persuasion, and tact to gain support from key suppliers and customers to ensure success.

Establishes and drives strategic global bidding initiatives, ensuring all site interests are understood and accounted for; supports worldwide product pricing strategy and process.

Responsible for global negotiations of pricing, terms & conditions, and monitoring supplier performance; maintains supply continuity.

Conducts strategic analysis on pricing, market, suppliers, customers, competitors, contracts, and long-term agreements; manages complex and diverse commodities in a dynamic environment.

Ensures timely execution of commodity plans, supplier analysis, development and selection, quotation/contracting, and supplier relationship management within established processes and policies.

Acts as primary interface with suppliers for relationship management, contract negotiation, performance reviews, business development, and supplier awards programs.

Tracks and reports performance metrics regularly.

Maintains deep understanding of AP culture. Assists in developing training plans for new employees and mentoring them.

Typical Experience


Requirements:
At least 5-7 years in the industry. Deep understanding of global supply chain trends and influences on strategic commodities, including industry pricing, technology, and supply/demand trends. Strong knowledge of engineering concepts and financial analysis. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. High integrity. Ability to build strong supplier and cross-functional relationships. Ability to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility and urgency. Effective in leading complex negotiations. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong desire to learn and take on dynamic challenges.
