Dynamic Youth Program Coordinator


About the Role:

The Deputy Manager, Shelter position is responsible for overseeing and monitoring shelter operations, providing regular updates and recommendations to the Head of Residential Services on a weekly basis. This role involves maintaining adherence to the Model of Care, conducting routine reviews to track changes, and training new hires on Boys Town Standard Operating Procedures.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Shelter Operations Coordination: Coordinate and monitor shelter operations to ensure efficient management and effective delivery of services.
  • Model of Care Adherence: Maintain fidelity to the Model of Care by ensuring all staff members adhere to its principles and practices.
  • Regular Reviews and Training: Conduct regular reviews to track changes and train new hires on Boys Town SOPs to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality services.
  • Staff Portfolio Management: Track and review staff portfolios, training hours, and budget expenditures to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Supervision and Mentoring: Provide bi-monthly supervision to senior youth specialists and youth specialists to support their professional growth and development.
  • Program Planning and Development: Plan and revise daily and holiday programs to motivate resident participation and engagement.
  • Residential Handbook Maintenance: Maintain and update the residential handbook to ensure it remains an accurate and effective resource for residents and staff.
  • New Resident Orientation: Brief new residents on rules and expectations to ensure a smooth transition into the program.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with RS units (programs, social work, education) for residents' needs and follow up with education officers on residents' school matters.
