We are seeking a skilled Emergency Response Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for responding to emergency and non-emergency calls for fire and emergency medical services, as well as on-call department services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and dispatch appropriate units in response to emergency and non-emergency calls
- Comply with safety policies and procedures to ensure the safety of responders and the public
- Maintain a safe and clean workplace, adhering to safety guidelines and participating in weekly safety meetings
- Monitor and answer emergency calls, interpreting and prioritizing information to dispatch responders accordingly
- Create service requests for technicians and other personnel as needed
- Communicate with emergency service personnel, including fire fighters, search and rescue teams, and medical staff
- Operate HF/VHF/Satellite telephone equipment and assist communications technicians with troubleshooting equipment
- Assist with operational aircraft communications, including uncontrolled airfield announcements and distributing aircraft movement reports
- Maintain knowledge of vehicle movements, field parties, and recreation groups in accordance with USAP safe travel policy
- Perform communication-related data entry using various software applications
- Provide set-up and staffing personnel for the Emergency Operations Center during emergency events and drills
- Coordinate radio communications during Fire Department, SAR, or mass casualty events/drills
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Incident Command System (ICS) 100 and 200 certifications
- 2 years of emergency services experience, including dispatch experience
- Certification as an emergency dispatcher from APCO, NENA, or a state agency, or DoD Telecommunicator I/II certification
- Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and email applications
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
