Cancer Support Specialist

As a dedicated professional in the field of cancer care, this role focuses on providing comprehensive support to children and adolescents affected by cancer.
Roles & Responsibilities:- Support clients with diverse needs, including newly diagnosed, receiving treatment, palliative/end-of-life, and survivorship.
- Provide emotional and psychological assistance to clients and their caregivers.
- Facilitate access to essential resources and services, such as financial aid, food, transportation, mobility equipment, medical consumables, etc.
- Maintain relationships with community partners to ensure continuity of care post-referrals.
- Refer clients for counseling, spiritual, or mental health support as needed.
- Coordinate psychoeducation sessions with medical professionals to enhance clients' understanding of their cancer diagnosis and treatments.
- Regularly communicate with clients and caregivers to assess coping mechanisms during their cancer journey.
- Advocate for patients' needs and promote cancer awareness through community programs and campaigns.
- Document case recordings accurately.
- Organize and facilitate support group sessions.
- Perform assigned administrative tasks and coordinate duties.
- Relevant degree in Counseling or Psychology.
- Experience in case management and supporting individuals impacted by illnesses/multiple adversities.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy and warmth towards clients.
- Interest in working with clients from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
- Flexibility to work with diverse age groups (children, adolescents, young adults, middle adults, older adults).
