The Installation Proposal Engineer role involves contributing mainly at the tender stage of Power Cable Systems projects and marginally during project construction.


Main Activities:
Knowledge of the cable market in terms of customers, competitors, and subcontractors.
Careful examination of the tender documentation, particularly technical specifications.
Examination of survey data provided by the customer.
Elaboration of a technical solution in accordance with the above requisites.
Internal discussions on the chosen solution with Installation Engineering and other departments as required.
Participation in clarifications meetings both internally and with the customer during tender preparation.
Site visits to understand logistic aspects, check feasibility of solutions, and contact potential subcontractors.
Preparation and issuance of technical specifications (RFQ) for potential subcontractors.
Examination of received proposals from different points of view: technical, economical, and scheduling/timing of work.
Discussions with subcontractors to clarify offers and align them to customer requirements.

Fine-tuning of the final solution in agreement with relevant departments such as System Design Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, Logistic, legal, HSE, Quality, and Project Management.

Elaboration of installation costs and assessment of risks associated with installation activities.

Preparation of the Technical Description of the Work and documentation requested by the customer regarding installation matters.

Assembly and preparation of the Plan of Work regarding installation activities and provision of necessary input to planners for overall POW assembly.


Requirements:
Degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines.
Curious and eager to quickly learn and get involved to improve autonomy.
Precise, proactive, problem-solving, and target-oriented.
Capacity to understand and conceptualize complexity into concise frameworks.
Pragmatic, flexible, capable of setting and handling priorities.
Flexibility and capability to manage changes during work.
Good relationship approach and team working capability.

Knowledge and familiarity with basic and common software like Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and web usage.


Added-Value Requirements:
Experience in proposal engineering activities such as costing, planning, subcontracting, technical proposal preparation, negotiation relevant to marine installation or other areas.
Knowledge of submarine cable installation world coming from operative or engineering roles.
