Therapist - Child and Youth Services

Our organization is seeking a compassionate Counsellor to provide therapeutic support to children, youth, and families in residential care and community programs. The role involves working with clients who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect, and providing emotional support, skill-building, and crisis intervention in a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver counselling and psychoeducation to clients dealing with trauma, family conflict, and behavioural challenges.
- Facilitate therapeutic groups such as coping skills and social-emotional learning.
- Work closely with social workers and psychologists to implement care plans.
- Document sessions and contribute to case reviews.
- Support crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
The ideal candidate will hold a Masters in Counselling Psychology, Clinical Mental Health Counselling, or a related field, and be eligible for accreditation with SAC or equivalent. A minimum of 3 years' experience in counselling is required, preferably in child protection, trauma, or out-of-home care, and working with children, youth, or families. Training in modalities like Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Play Therapy is essential.
