About the Role

This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a multi-country study focused on community needs assessment and the evaluation of a global health intervention aimed at improving access to safe drinking water. The initiative combines portable water filtration technology with capacity-building on water treatment and sanitation, and is implemented across hospital, rural, and school settings in Southeast Asia in collaboration with UNICEF, the World Health Organization, and local partners.

The role entails overseeing the baseline community assessment and overall evaluation of the intervention, working closely with the Principal Investigator and local research teams. This includes managing field-based data collection, designing and validating survey instruments and context-appropriate evaluation indicators, conducting quantitative data analysis, drafting evaluation reports, policy briefs, and technical documentation, creating data visualizations, and supporting capacity-building efforts for local field teams and partners.

Proficiency in statistical software such as R, Stata, SPSS, or Python is required, along with expertise in quantitative analysis and quasi-experimental evaluation techniques. Familiarity with Laos or Southeast Asia is an advantage, as well as strong project management skills and comfort engaging multiple-stakeholders and community partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage field-based data collection, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, and observational assessments.
  • Design and validate survey instruments and context-appropriate evaluation indicators.
  • Conduct quantitative data analysis of the longitudinal survey and monitoring data.
  • Draft evaluation reports, policy briefs, and technical documentation.
  • Create data visualizations to communicate results to stakeholders.
  • Support capacity-building efforts for local field teams and partners in evaluation design and data collection.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Public health, Epidemiology, Data Science/Analytics, Psychology, or other related disciplines.
  • Minimum 3 years of research experience, preferably in program evaluation, public health or applied social science.

  • Expertise in quantitative analysis and quasi-experimental evaluation techniques.
  • Familiarity with Laos or Southeast Asia is an advantage.
  • Strong project management skills and comfort engaging multiple-stakeholders and community partners.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in program evaluation, field-based public health research, and cross-country collaboration with international partners across Southeast Asia, along with exposure to other global health research initiatives within the organization.
