
Fire Safety Operations Coordinator

Job Description:
The Fire Safety Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with fire safety requirements stated under the Emergency Response Plan (ERP). This includes supervising maintenance of all fire safety equipment and systems, verifying that occupant load does not exceed capacity prescribed under the Fire Code, conducting daily checks to identify and remove any potential fire hazards, preparing and executing the ERP, distributing it to premises occupants, and conducting regular fire drills for premises occupants at least twice annually.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with fire safety requirements stated under the ERP.
- Supervise maintenance of all fire safety equipment and systems.
- Verify that occupant load does not exceed capacity prescribed under the Fire Code.
- Conduct daily checks to identify and remove any potential fire hazards.
- Prepare and execute the ERP, distributing it to premises occupants.
- Conduct regular fire drills for premises occupants at least twice annually.
- Ensure all occupants are familiar with means of escape.
- Develop fire safety guidebooks for premises occupants.
- Train, coordinate, and supervise the Crisis Emergency Response Team (CERT) in first aid, firefighting, and evacuation procedures in case of fire or other emergencies.
- Train premises occupants in first aid, firefighting, and evacuation.
- Coordinate and supervise premises occupants in firefighting and evacuation during emergency situations.
- Supervise the operation of the Fire Command Centre (FCC) in emergency situations.
- Conduct two tabletop exercises annually.
- Develop and implement the Arson Prevention Plan (APP).
- Notify the Commissioner immediately upon occurrence of any fire incident within the premises.
- Organize campaigns, training courses, competitions, and other activities.
- Perform other duties as required by the Commissioner.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Hold a minimum of a Polytechnic Diploma in Engineering or related discipline.
- Registered Fire Safety Manager.
- Possess relevant experience in inspecting and approving hot work, welding, cutting, and other operations involving heat and sparks.
- Familiarity with relevant manuals, SOPs, plans, etc.
- Physical fitness to respond to fire incidents or emergencies.
- Other academic and training qualifications as required by relevant authorities.
