Job Title: Health Safety and Environmental Officer

The primary objective of the Health Safety and Environmental Officer is to ensure compliance with workplace safety standards. This includes developing and implementing safety plans, addressing non-conformance issues on-site, and driving safety initiatives.

This role involves conducting thorough analysis to determine the root causes of non-compliance with WSH standards, recommending effective solutions, and evaluating various approaches to problem-solving. The officer must also assess their potential impact on outcomes related to WSH compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and prepare the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) plan for the project, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and address areas of non-conformance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standards, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Conduct site inspections, providing guidance and training to teams on best practices for safety and compliance.
  • Lead investigations into accidents, collaborating with the team to prepare detailed reports for all relevant stakeholders.
  • Evaluate existing policies and procedures, making recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Possess a valid MOM-registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) license.
  • Minimum Specialist Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Workplace Safety and Health, accredited by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in construction or utilities projects.
  • Strong knowledge of the WSH Act, relevant regulations, and industry-specific safety standards.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with various stakeholders including contractors, consultants, and site teams.
  • Experience in implementing HSE policies and maintaining related management systems.
  • Possession of a valid Class 2 or 3 driving license is an advantage (to support site mobility).
