As a senior manufacturing expert, you will play a pivotal role in our hardware engineering team. Our goal is to build the world's premier cloud computing platform. To achieve this, we are seeking experienced professionals who can operate in a fast-paced and ever-changing international manufacturing environment. Our ideal candidate should be capable of working closely with internal development teams, upstream component vendors, ODMs, and CMs to monitor and improve the quality of AWS products.

You will be responsible for ensuring that manufacturing launches run smoothly, identifying root causes of product failures, and resolving process issues. Your technical expertise will be instrumental in driving production up and running efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards. Additionally, you will be required to coach other engineers to deliver products quickly and at a high level of quality.

  • Manage organizational processes to optimize new product launches.
  • Ensure quality control across CM, ODM, and vendor partnerships.
  • Provide on-site support during new product launches.
  • Design in quality and manufacturability for server and rack designs.
  • Analyze and resolve customer-impacting issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as manufacturing, industrial, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
  • Extensive experience in electronics manufacturing, including process engineering.
  • Experience in product development, lean manufacturing implementation, and conceptualizing tools and fixtures.
  • Familiarity with reducing cycle time, improving labor efficiency, and supplier component management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Diverse experience in multiple roles within electronics manufacturing and product development.
  • Expertise in surface mount technology (SMT) and printed circuit board assembly (PCBA).
  • Six Sigma black belt certification.
  • Experience in datacenter operations and supply chain management.
