
Director of Events

Role Overview:
This key role is responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and execution of events such as seminars, meetings, weddings, lunches, dinners, high-tea, and outside catering.
The Event Director will lead and coordinate banquet teams, supervise operations, and deliver exceptional guest service. This individual will work closely with event organizers to ensure seamless event operations, maintain banquet setups, furniture, and equipment to hotel standards through regular checks, inventories, and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and preferences.
- Coordinate event logistics, including room setup, seating arrangements, and audio-visual equipment.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to banquet waiters and casual workers to ensure seamless event operations.
- Maintain banquet setups, furniture, and equipment to hotel standards through regular checks, inventories, and maintenance.
- Handle service recovery promptly, manage guest complaints, and make decisions to achieve the best outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with sales and other departments to meet guest expectations and support special requests.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regular bookers, and internal teams to drive service excellence and repeat business.
- Plan staffing requirements, conduct daily briefings, and maximize productivity through multi-tasking and innovative practices.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Genuine, passionate, and service-oriented personality with a professional and friendly attitude.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Flexible, decisive, and able to handle complaints or difficult situations calmly and effectively.
- A proactive team player who can adapt to changing priorities and work demands positively.
