International Trade Specialist Job Overview

The International Trade Specialist is responsible for overseeing customs and freight operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, accurate documentation, and seamless international trade execution.

As a key member of the team, you will drive cost efficiency and strategic improvements through effective coordination, data analysis, and stakeholder collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support HS code classification and assess Free Trade Agreement (FTA) feasibility to enhance trade efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to validate FTAs and ensure accurate HS code and tariff setup in SAP.
  • Monitor import/export regulations and ensure full compliance with customs documentation and procedures.
  • Manage freight service providers and maintain compliance with Dangerous Goods (DG) regulations.
  • Coordinate daily freight bookings, documentation, and scheduling to optimize cost and delivery timelines.
  • Prepare monthly freight reports and identify strategic opportunities for cost savings and process improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain or Business Administration from a reputable institution.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in an import/export control function.
  • Strong knowledge in FTA, customs procedures, policies, and regulations.
  • A strong team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Proficiency in SAP will be an added advantage.
