Lighting Designer Role

The ideal candidate will possess a high level of creativity and technical expertise in lighting design, with the ability to produce innovative concepts, drawings, and calculations.

  • Developing and presenting comprehensive lighting strategies to clients and other stakeholders;
  • Collaborating closely with electrical teams, clients, and other consultants to ensure seamless project execution;
  • Guiding and overseeing junior lighting designers to foster their growth and development;
  • Providing expert project management and technical support from concept design through testing and commissioning;
  • Managing project workflows, ensuring timely completion and effective resource allocation;
  • Supervising junior designers, providing assistance and reporting to senior leadership;
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, and contractors at project meetings to maintain open communication;
  • Conducting site inspections and providing on-site technical support to ensure projects meet quality standards;
  • Preparing and reviewing detailed design documentation, tender documents, and other administrative materials;
  • Assisting with business development, marketing, and other business management tasks to drive company growth.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a related field, preferably in lighting design or a related discipline;
  • A degree or diploma in Electrical, Architecture, Product Design, or Interior Design from an accredited institution;
  • Proficiency in common design analysis software, such as Photoshop and Dialux, to streamline project workflow;
  • Strong design flair and excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders;
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, lead by example, and contribute to a positive work environment.
